China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO Group) provides a range of maritime services including container shipping, dry bulk shipping, tanker shipping, specialised carrier shipping, logistics (including third party logistics, shipping agency and freight forwarding), terminal operations, container leasing and manufacturing, ship building and ship repairing for both domestic and international customers through its various subsidiaries.
As at January 1, 2013, the company had the world's fifth largest fleet of container vessels (as measured by total container capacity). In the ports sector, at the end of 2012, COSCO Group was the world's fifth largest container terminal operator as measured by annual throughput (adjusted according to the extent of equity held in each terminal).
In 2014, COSCO Group's flagship subsidiary China COSCO Holdings reported revenues of CN¥66.9bn.
