JAL Cargo (Japan Airlines Corporation)
JAL Cargo is the cargo division of Japan Airlines and began operations in 1959. Until 2010, the cargo division had a fleet of aircraft specifically designed for cargo, however in October 2010, JAL ended its cargo-only flights. Instead cargo is transported in the underbelly of its passenger aircraft.
JAL is based in Japan and has international flights to destinations across Europe, Asia and the Americas. The division had revenues of ¥84.6bn in 2014.
Note: In January 2010, Japan Airlines obtained support from the Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corporation of Japan for corporate restructuring, and the airline thereafter filed for and obtained approval for court-led corporate restructuring. On March 28, 2011, Japan Airlines completed the corporate rehabilitation process with the strong support and assistance of its creditors, customers and all other related parties. Thus year-end financial reports for fiscal year 2009 ending in March 2010 and for fiscal year 2010 ending March 2011 were not produced.
