Brief Profile Expand

State-owned Green Cargo is one of Sweden's largest logistics and transport companies. It was formerly known as SJ Freight, part of the Swedish railways. It was spun off into an independent company in 2000 and changed its name to Green Cargo.

Green Cargo primarily serves the steel, chemical, automotive, engineering, forestry and retail industries.

Besides railway freight transportation, the company also offers distribution by truck and third-party logistics solutions, though this arm of Green Cargo's business has been significantly curtailed following strategic decisions in 2010 and 2011 for the business to focus on its core rail operations.

In 2012, Green Cargo reported revenues of SEK4.1bn.
